ECON 2105. Principles of Macroeconomics (3-0-3) This principles of economics course is intended to introduce students to concepts that will enable them to understand and analyze economic aggregates and evaluate economic policies.
ECON 2106. Principles of Microeconomics (3-0-3) This principles of economics course is intended to introduce students to concepts that will enable them to understand and analyze structure and performance of the market economy. ECON 3136. Money and Banking (3-0-3) Prerequisites: ECON 2105 and ECON 2106. Monetary economics and the role of financial intermediaries in economic organization. ECON 3145. Labor Economics (3-0-3) Prerequisite: ECON 2106. Economic aspects of labor organizations, wage theory, labor relations, and legislation. ECON 3147. American Economic History (3-0-3) Prerequisites: Completion of one CORE history course and sophomore standing. Major economic developments in the United States from colonial times. ECON 3155. Consumer Economics (3-0-3) Prerequisite: Junior standing. This course is closed to finance majors. Consumer and family economics, money management and personal finance. Topics include budgeting, savings, borrowing, taxes, investments, insurance and retirement planning. ECON 3165. Current Economic Issues (3-0-3) Prerequisite: Junior standing. Economic perspectives on today's economic problems from the viewpoint of individuals and society. ECON 4698. Internship (3 hours) Prerequisite: Approval of Department Chair. Placement is restricted and cannot include an individual's current employment assignment. Substantial written proposal and final report are required. Nine hours work per week is required. Credit may be applied only as elective. (S/U grading.) ECON 6185. Economics for Educators (3-0-3) An introduction to economic principles and private enterprise. Not open to business majors. |
