LIBR 1105: Introduction to Library and Information Science

LIBR 1105. Introduction to Library and Information Science (2-0-2) An introduction to Library and Information Science concepts and Information Literacy competencies. It includes the research process, nature of information, efficient and effective access, evaluation and use of information, ethical/legal issues, and the role of libraries in society. The theoretical framework for this course is complemented by practical applications aimed at gaining basic Information Literacy proficiency. (Course fee required.)
