BUSA 4115. New Venture Creation (3-0-3) Prerequisites: MGMT 3115, MKTG 3115, and FINC 3105. The contributions that new ventures and small businesses make to the economy and society as a whole, the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, the process of starting up new businesses, and the primary determinants of new venture performance. The primary course activity involves the preparation of a Business Plan for a "prospective" new venture.
MGMT 3135. Human Resource Management (3-0-3) Prerequisite: MGMT 3115 with a grade of "C" or better. Principles, practices and programs relevant to managing human resources in a modern organization.
MGMT 3185. Leadership (3-0-3) This course explores the nature of leadership and the theories and styles through which leadership has been defined. It will help students to develop their own leadership abilities in the areas of self-confidence, self-motivation, habits for effectiveness, determination, character strength, communication skills, public speaking, teambuilding, empowerment of others, networking, and problem-solving.
MGMT 4115. Organizational Behavior (3-0-3) Prerequisite: MGMT 3115 with a grade of "C" or better. This course covers the managerial applications of the behavioral sciences as applied to modern organizations. Individual, interpersonal, and group behaviors are studied using a psychological and sociological basis.
MGMT 4116. International Management (3-0-3) Prerequisite: MGMT 3115 with a grade of "C" or better. Course enables students to develop a better understanding of the relationship between national culture and management theories, behaviors, and practices in a cross-national environment.
