EDEC 2000. Induction into Early Childhood Education (0-0-0) Corequisite: EDRG 2156. Prerequisites: EDUC 2110, EDUC 2120, and EDUC 2130 with a grade of "C" or better. This course provides an introduction to the history of the Early Childhood profession including current trends. It is designed to help students understand the expectations and responsibilities of becoming a part of a professional community. The course concludes with an induction ceremony marking entrance to participation in professional endeavors.
EDRG 2156. Literature for Young Children (2-0-2) Prerequisites: EDEC 2000. Criteria for selection of literature and appropriate activities for the young child.
SPED 2256. Introduction to the Exceptional Learner in General Education (3-1-3) For prospective and practicing teachers. Emphasis is placed on meeting the needs of learner with disabilities in general education programs. Required adaptations and modifications, and available resources and services for these learners are stressed. 30 hours field experience required. (Course fee required.)
