EDEC 4247. Math Methods, Diagnostics and Prescriptive Instruction (3-2-4) Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education, MATH 2008, MAED 5131U, and EDEC 4155 with a grade of "C" or better. This course will cover methods, principles, and strategies for teaching math in early childhood education. In addition, the coursework will focus on analysis and remediation of diagnosed math strengths and weaknesses using informal assessment instruments and techniques. Required field component is part of course. (Course fee required.)


EDEC 4235. Science in Early Childhood (3-2-4) Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and and EDEC 4155 with a grade of "C" or better. An examination of curriculum concepts, skills, and instructional methodologies appropriate for teaching science to young children. (Course fee required.)


EDRG 4219. Diagnostic and Prescriptive Reading Instruction (3-2-4) Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education and EDRG 3215 with a grade C or better. Analysis and remediation of diagnosed reading strengths and weaknesses using informal assessment instruments and techniques. Required field component is part of the course. (Course fee required.)


MAED 5132. Understanding Data Analysis and Probability (3-0-3) An exploration of data collection, data representation, data analysis and probability. Students may only attempt the course three times. Undergraduate Prerequisites: : MATH 2008 with a grade of "C" or better, Admission to Teacher Education, and a declared major in Early Childhood Education. Graduate Prerequisites: MAED 6130 with a grade of "C" or better.
