THEA 1355. Basic Design for the Theatre (2-2-3) The study of the elements and principles of design and how they may be used in scenery, lighting and costuming. The development of free-hand and mechanical drawing skills. (Course fee required.)

THEA 2165. Survey of Design for the Theatre (2-2-3) Prerequisites: Take two of the following: THEA 1166, 1167, or 1168 with a grade of "C" or better. Description: This course provides the student with the skills needed to design and implement scenery, lighting, and costumes for productions with limited budgets, time, and skill levels while maintaining design concepts and analysis. By the conclusion of the course, the student will have developed a design concept, scenic design (including ground plan, elevations, and model or rendering), light design and plot, costume plot and renderings, and a detailed budget and time outline for one production.
