Move the world toward a brighter future. When you pursue an Associate of Science in Engineering Studies, you'll focus your creative mind on the practical application of science, humanities, social science, and mathematics. Columbus State University's pre-engineering program offers the flexibility to transfer to any engineering schools where you'll continue to inspire ingenuity.

Choosing an AS in engineering studies at Columbus State University creates an educational experience where you are in control. Expand your world with hands-on internships or be inspired to collaborate on research projects with faculty focused on fiber optics, biomedical imaging, robotics, reinforcement learning, and more.

The Regents' Engineering Pathways Program (REPP) is a transfer program that prepares you for 4-year programs at institutions like Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Southern University, or Mercer University.

With a dual-degree option, CSU, and the Georgia Institute of Technology, students may complete a specified three-year program of study at CSU, and then attend Georgia Tech for approximately two years to receive two Bachelor's degrees.

If you are a creative thinker and bold innovator, explore the certificate in robotics. Explore the construction and programming of robotic and automated systems. Obtaining a certificate in Robotics prepares students for work in robotics and exposes them to several facets of the field. The program allows for a focus on the hardware and modeling or the algorithms, all of which are the integral components of robotics.

Take the next step. Solve everyday challenges and improve our way of life with an AS in engineering studies from CSU.

Career Opportunities

Based on your path, an Associate of Science in engineering studies degree prepares you for advanced study leading to a broad range of careers including:

  • Manager of civil engineering
  • Computer scientist
  • Engineering officer
  • Quality control specialist
  • Software engineer
  • Teacher / Professor / Lecturer

The Pre-Engineering program taught me that hard work and focus are essential. Dr. Seifu was tough, but he believed that I could accomplish my goals. I stuck with Engineering, and now I am going on my 3rd year as a professional engineer.
